Lace is definitely back in style. This hot trend is now competing with leather jackets and army coats. Of course, lace has always been around and never became "out of style". But now lace tanks and shirts are becoming a staple in the upcoming fall wardrobe.

The trend has progressed from simple tanks to full blown dresses. From being an accessory or layer, to the main piece of an outfit. Now there are many different styles of lace dresses available.

Atten-hut! Uniforms Make a Comeback

Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! If there is one style that I remember seeing my parents wear when I was a child, it would be the military look. Army prints were HUGE when I was about ten years old. Now the army look is coming back, but it's loosing the print and flashing it huge buttons and stylist jackets.

I am a big fan of the uniform look. My favorite outfit has a sailor looking twist to it, composed of pieces from Delia's and my beautiful Tiffany & Co. anchor necklace. Military jackets are beginning to become more popular. Lucky for me I have three military looking winter coats. (Two of them I got for ten dollars! The cheap price makes them that much more indie ;) )

Now although AE is not Mod/Indie, I spotted a killer military jacket made by them in Seventeen magazine, as seen above. (Photo and link here.) The big buttons are what make it, along with the cropped length. The cropped length really makes the wearer's legs look longer. The jacket completes the look and makes the wearer look very mod, instantly.

If the jacket is too much though, try a military looking cardigan/sweater. Image to the right. (Photo and link here.) The look is less indie and can be made into a very preppy/oxford looking outfit if the indie look is not longer wanted. Overall it is adorable and not as expensive as the Sergeant Jacket.

If you want the mod military appearance, look out for those big brassy buttons. A uniform inspired outfit is a quick success to the mod look, and officially back in style!

Bees and Teens

There are a lot of products that I get excited about. Here's my list of the three main things I can shop forever for.

Hair Products (The defrizzing ones especially!)
Teeth Whitening Products (Got to have those pearl whites)
Face Wash (A must for a teenage girl, or a teen in general!)

Out of those three though, I probably spend most of my time in front of the face wash. Between the amount of money I have, and the hype for each product, I can never decide. Since I'm only a teen, I don't know which brands to trust. And since my mom hates shopping with me in target (because I take forever) I rarely have any guidance.

So of course, being the tech savvy girl I am I turn to the internet for counseling! While looking for a new face cleaner, I stumbled upon this. I don't know about you, but I love Burt's Bees products. I used to be what you call a palm licker (I am embarrassed of this, it was a tough phase), but ever since I started carrying around Burt's Bees Hand Salve, my hands are never dry! And they are super smooth. :) Their lip balms are magical and everything with the label Burt's Bee is super soothing. That's why I can't wait to order some samples of their new product tomorrow! I'm posting about it now because they may be sold out for those who do not know about it till day of or later! I predict that the Burt's Bees approach to Acne treatment will be as soothing as the rest of their products, and minimize the risk of irritation. (I use a surfer spot treatment now and let me tell you, it dries your skin out like you wouldn't believe! Red splotches everywhere.)

So look out for Burt's Bees new Acne products! I know I will. :)

Welcome to Mod About It...

So after being inspired by my mother at Orangeitlovely, I have decided to create my own blog. "What about?" you may ask. Well to be honest, I'm not sure. All I know is that I am an internet junkie. A Tech Geek to specify. I love the internet, but on the other stylist hand, I love being a girl. So on this blog I've decided to combine the best of both worlds which I currently inhabit.
Expect to be enlightened on what crazes strike my generation. From video games to Havaina Sandals. (Yes Mom, I know you love those shoes but they look like any other kind of flip flop.)

The most important thing you may get out of this site is a good sample or too. More than anything, I am a SAMPLE JUNKIE. So keep an eye on me, you won't regret it. :)
